Carbon impact of our industrial pilot

Climate/carbon criteria : avoidance and sequestration

Methodological framework and scope of study

In order to measure the carbon footprint of its Accelerated Fossilization of waste technology and to compare the climatic impact with those of incineration and landfill, Néolithe has carried out a Life Cycle Assessment (unverified LCA) of its industrial pilot and a Life Cycle Inventory (verified LCI, INIES) of its aggregate.

A second Life Cycle Assessment has been carried out by Néolithe and is now being validated.

What is an LCA ?

LCA, or Life Cycle Assessment, is a standardized calculation methodology (ISO 14 040) used to assess the environmental impacts of a product or service throughout its life cycle. This includes every stage, from the extraction of raw materials and energy, through transport, manufacturing, and use, to maintenance and end-of-life disposal or recycling.

And an LCI ?

The LCI, or Life Cycle Inventory, is a complete assessment of the energy resources, raw materials and transport required to manufacture a product. It is used for the LCA of a multi-material construction product. Available on the INIES database, it helps to create Environmental and Health Declaration Sheets (FDES).
